Puppies at two weeks of age

Does the time fly? Piksu & Zotzot pups had their two weeks birthday and by now they are already able to see what is happening around them - their eyes opened already at the end of the week. So, here they are:

Pictures of the little Pyr shep puppies

Today it was time to take the first individual pictures of the little Pyr shep puppies at the age of five days. They also have their official names ready along with their call names. At least two of them are still in search of a home, the fawnmerle boy "Neilikka" and one of the girls, probably the fawnmerle girl "Kaneli".

Female "Korianteri", Entre Nous Coriandre Bleue.
Female "Kamomilla", Entre Nous Camomille Bleue.

Female "Kardemumma", Entre Nous Cardamome Bleue.

Female "Kaneli", Entre Nous Cannelle et Vanille.

Male "Kumina", Entre Nous Cumin des Prés.

Male "Neilikka", Entre Nous Clou de Girofle.

Zotzot and Piksu had their puppies

Zotzot gave birth to six little Pyr shep puppies late at saturday night. Some series of colours we have: there is a black boy, a fawn merle girl and a fawn merle boy plus three merle (bluemerle) girls. They all are doing great and all you can hear from the litter box is a satisfied sniffle when they are at the milk bar.

Genetics is sometimes so funny! Statisticly there is a change of 50% for a puppy from a merle parent to inherit the merle gene. Well, in Zotzot's first litter only one puppy out of six had it. Now we are back in the stats, because five out of six inherited it this time. :) Unfortunately fawn merle is a disqualifying colour in conformation shows so these two pups are looking for otherwise actice homes.

The whole bunch at the age of less than one day.

Kassu found a home...

...and one great home it is with Johanna, Aki and Milo the dog. From now on he is called Valo (meaning the light) which I think suites him way better than his old robber or bandit name. He is a cute little guy. Good luck with him!

Kassu in search for a great home

The member of the Cardamom town bandits, Kasper, is still in search for his own home. He is a lovely smooth coated boy that would like to have an active family. After having enough activation in his life he simply loves to have naps beside humans on a sofa watching television. "Kassu" is of show quality, has a lovely outgoing temperament and has had his first set of vaccinations already. Here are some pictures of him:

Puppies and no puppies...

Zotzot (DD d'Entre Nous) is getting rounder and rounder and the little Pyr sheps are expected to be born in a week or so. Getting excited...

Titi-uu (EN Incarvillée) instead is not going to get spring puppies. We can not be blamed for not trying. She started her season a week before Christmas so at Christmas we were supposed to fly to Belgium to meet her handsome fiancee Khaos. Well, there we were, spending our Christmas at Helsinki-Vantaa airport just to learn that our flight was cancelled because of the terrible snow storms in the western Europe. Nothing could be done, there were no possibilities to get Titi-uu to another plane, so we will try again with better luck I hope in May or June. Haha, at least me and Nora had a wonderful Chrismas dinner: tunar baquette and coffee at the airport.

The sister of Titi-uu, NouNou (EN Ipomée Sauvage) is also going to be mated, possibly next summer. Her fiancee is also from Belgium, a very handsome male called Aubisqbleu du Val d'Ares. It is very nice to have a chance to mate her to a male that is still going strong at the age of almost ten years. Titi-uu's fiancee Khaos is also already seven years old and as healthy as can be. Heli sent me a gorgeous Xmas card of NouNou. It is not easy to get an expressive picture like that from the little black girl, so I simply have to publish it here in the blog:

In memoriam

From the very first Entre Nous litter Sälli, Entre Nous Atout de la Vie started his journey to the rainbow bridge on the last day of the year 2010. He lived over 13 years and was a dear family member to his owners Mervi and Jussi. Thank you for taking such a good care of him - and deep condelences.

Some success

Last year had a nice ending with some success in both agility and show rings. At first the JRT girl Sylvi (Entre Nous Eirene) and her owner Tarja won an agility competition with a round zero. Wow, one more and they will get their ticket to the third class. Congratulations Tarja!

In USA Ivie (Ch Entre Nous Ivie Bien-Aimee CGC) took part to one of the main conformation shows in the whole country, the National Eukanuba Invitational that was held in Florida. She was BOS! Warm congratulations to her owner Terri Walker from Kennel Bien-Aime and her handler Margie Elkins. Fine work!

Even if that wasn't enough, some more success followed. The sister of Ivie, Titi-uu (EN Incarvillée) added to more titles in front of her name - she is now Helsinki Winner -10 and national Winner -10 by placing BOS on both days. In addition Joli (EN Joli-Bois Bleue) was shown for the first time in the Winner-show and she placed second best female and was Junior Winner -10. Well done girls! Congratulations Nora & Titi-uu and Paukku & Joli!
